The first site is Turneffe Elbow at the southernmost tip of Turneffe - the site most exposed to currents which often attract large schools of fish, such as Horse-Eye Jacks, and occasionally sharks. The presence of strong currents also means that the site is only accessible for diving on calm days. We descend along a buoy line to a sandy bottom at 70ft/ 21m, and then swim out to the top of the wall at 90ft/ 27m where we spend approximatlely 25 minutes. Black Beauty, the second dive site, is also exposed to currents. Our maximum depth along this wall is 60ft/ 18m where you'll find rich sponge growth and gorgonians hanging over the edge of the wall. Myrtle Turtle, the third dive site, is named for Myrtle, the large, friendly Green turtle who has frequented this area for 15 years, often attracting other turtles.
*Of course, we are talking about the wilderness; so every dive is unique.
